Feel free to reply to any comment by clicking the "Reply" button.I think I read it in one of many books I've read on the Third Reich and WW2 that his personal doctor was treating him for syphilis as well. There's little doubt that Hitler lost the war for Germany solely on his own, by his erractive behavior and just plain bad decisions, which his field marshals tried to tell him were just plain crazy.
Operation Barbarossa was the main bad decision which sealed not only his own fate, but the fate of the whole war German effort. Thank Ra for that.

Why do you say he had syphilis?
Hitler's progressive mental and physical deterioration after 1942, his growing paranoia, fits of rage, grandiosity and symptoms of possible dementia would fit in neurosyphilis. There are, however, also other explanations for his terminal syndrome, and evidence that repeated clinical examinations did not show the characteristic signs of dementia paralytica or tabes dorsalis, swings the balance of probability away from tertiary syphilis. Most likely his mental issues were influenced by the (provable) use of pharmaceuticals.
