I think it's high time to consider disbanding and consolidating Federal law enforcement into one agency that can be watched more closely by Congress. So far the only Federal law enforcement agency that has not succumbed to the temptation to be a political enforcement arm of the Democrat authoritarians is the United States Marshall's service, the oldest of all law enforcement agencies. In the 20th century, Congress created an agency for every new law they passed and added LEOs to every executive branch agency they made.
I propose that the various three-letter agencies that have LEOs loose them unless their entire purpose is law enforcement, in that case they will be folded into the US Marshalls. The Federal Bureau of Investigations is utterly corrupt and has been since J. Edgar Hoover. Disband it en toto and pass its assets over to the Marshalls. ATF, DEA, etc., all will become departments within the Marshalls. The Secret Service will retain only its bodyguard roll and all crimes against the currency will be enforced by the Marshalls.
That done, each house of Congress will have a committee to oversee the Marshalls consisting of an absolutely equal number of each party and three seats filled with others from parties not D or R. That way no party can politicize the oversight of the Marshalls without support from two of the independents.
