DEBATE: Should the Red States Secede?
By the way, I liked Jeremy's points at the end. He sounded a bit like Steve Turley and his talk of the need for a parallel polis.
I'm not altogether sure what I think about this issue, but I think I disagree that secession would necessarily be violent. Frankly, I don't think any but a tiny minority would be willing to resort to violence to maintain the union as it is. I suspect that, instead, many states might breath a sigh of relief o both sides. The only big motivation I can think of that might move a few states to be more violent would be that those Democrat states that are bankrupt would lose the bailout money they hope to get from the Republican run states' taxes. Anyway, just a few thoughts.
