Knowing the Russian Government's past history with lying and framing their opposition (a typical communist tactic), I don't think such would be out of the realm of possibility.
@SpikeTalon Again, truth is the first casualty in war. So all bets are off. There's no way to know the truth without forensically picking apart the whole conflict after the fact.
