The Elephant in the Room
It has been a surreal experience following the Municipal election town hall meetings that are occurring across Ontario. I am witnessing large groups of people gathering and pretending that everything is just fine in the world. Adults pretending that all we have to do is tweak a few traditional political talking points and everything will be fine in our communities. In these “safe space meetings” there is no discussion on things such as how Municipal politicians were, and continue to be, used and paid by the Trudeau regime to dictate the COVID hysteria onto people all across Canada. The resulting societal division created by the degradation of our freedoms through segregation and discrimination are taboo subjects. The financial devastation to small business and individuals resulting from the mandates is not even worthy of consideration. I am actually hearing candidates trying to blame previous Councils for the coming tax increases. No mention of the crippling impact of lockdowns on Municipal coffers. Other forbidden topics are the current world war, the imminent collapse of the world currency system, the supply line emergency impacting on food, fuel, building supplies and everything else that is needed to continue functioning as a society. Any questions submitted to generate this critical discussion are censored by the moderators. How are local communities going to survive the fallout from all of this if people are too afraid to even discuss it? People seeking leadership positions in their community need to have the integrity and courage to discuss the elephant in the room. We owe it to the next generation to act like adults and have the required difficult conversations. It is not business as usual and people need to stop pretending it is.
