Well done! This is a correct reading of "Taming of the Shrew." If you've ever seen a Shakepearean theatre version, it is moving exactly because we see the bond gently crafted between the man and the woman - and not just by the man.

Precisely. It’s clear from the Taylor-Burton movie as well. Anyone who thinks Elizabeth Taylor is some kind of wimpy, subservient haus frau at the end of this is not paying any attention. And to think that this truth shines through all the way from the 17th century seems absolutely marvelous!! And stunning!
