A great place to be in for freeloaders in the US.

so you want single payer health care and then I'm guessing you like the idea of the GMI (Guaranteed Minimum Income)?
Hey, food, transportation, education, health care, cell phones, internet access, abortions, drugs both recreational and proscribed...there's no end to what you or someone else might think they are entitled to have

I mean hey - if the prison population gets it then I guess you're entitled to it too - eh? LOL

Priorities, and political correctness. That is the context, not the absolute equation you suggest.

@TimTuolomne

your posted comment clearly implies your own sense of entitlement.

Hey if the gov't is giving out surplus cheese then by god I'm gonna get my piece of cheese whether I need it or not! LOL

This thing with cheese actually happened - I think it was in the '70s. Some part of the Fed. Gov't discovered that they had too much cheese on hand (due to gov't subsidization of the dairy industry). So in their infinite wisdom they announced "free cheese" to anyone and everyone who would be willing to come to the distribution point to pick up "their fair share of gov't cheese".

I was shocked when I saw that at least 1/3 of my fellow employees went to get their free cheese. I asked one fellow why he bothered - I pointed out that he had a good job; good income; had no real "need" for the cheese.

He indignantly said that it was "his cheese" and he was going to get it - "need" notwithstanding.

I shook my head in dismay and surprise. This was a learning moment for me. It gave me a theretofore unknown insight to the petty nature of human beings.
