Recently, my alma mater has responded to some malcontents who objected to "The eyes of Texas" as a "racist" song. Even though the lyrics tell of "eyes of every hue". Apparently, because a college in Virginia, years after the civil war had a president who used to say that "The eyes of the South are upon you" and a prominent administrator at the University of Texas used to say "The eyes of Texas are upon you..hold your head up and work hard.." then the fight song that we all love to sing, the one we grew up with, is racist. It's like we're singing some kind of Nazi anthem.
yeah, right.
Here I have a modest proposal. Let's honor all the people from the state by singing each line of the song in Tonkawan, then Igbo, and then Yoruba, and Nahuatl, Then Czech, German, Pidgin,Hindi, and American Sign Language.
Or, how about we let the SJW's go to school someplace else. someplace with a tradition of forward thinking....like Texas A&M.
Yeah, well, I quituated from A&M. So be vewy, vewy careful! Or otherwise, all you'll be getting out of me is boots and brass.
