When the gamification of a site hides perks for higher levels than the one you're at, you're effectively saying people ought to try to play your game without even knowing why. This isn't the way to incentivise this audience who are apparently smart and curious people. If the game is to be non-transparent and make people feel isolated from the system you're trying to create, you've won.
This site is still relatively new, so there is plenty of room for improvements.
Incidentally, clicking on "perks" for the levels i've attained doesn't actually show any perks.
