Hi and welcome! I'm the founder (and a developer) of the site and my role is to help facilitate the growth and impact of the community. I'm motivated by the belief that tough societal problems are only solved if all participants debate the issues in good faith, communicate with reason and civility.

Politically, I would consider myself grounded by a vision of what would make an ideal world in the year 2200. This would include issues like tackling global temperature rise, overpopulation, ocean acidification, environmental decline, resource consumption, and the decline of the cultural diversity worldwide. I've an engineering Ph.D. and a background in economic and business so I tend to look at issues both analytically and emotionally.
