I love the idea of respectful sharing of ideas. I do not need to agree with those I am in a conversation with. I would rather be in a respectful, thoughtful conversation with someone I vastly disagree with than in a conversation with a person I agree primarily with who is not respectful or thoughtful. I love the principle taught by Stephen R. Covey that states: "First seek to understand, then seek to be understood."
