Mormons or members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Later Day Saints have not practices polygamy since 1890. A huge misconception is that all Mormons have or did participated in polygamy. However that is not the case. It was a special calling that only select familys where asked to participate in. The Prophet at the time would ask both the Man and Woman if that would be something they would be willing to do. If any party was uncomfortable with it it would not happen. Most of the time you would have a recently widowed woman with young children and no way to provide for them. Also very rarely were men allowed to have more than two wives. They would live in separate houses when able. More or less it wasnt about love or lust but about creating cohesion and a sence of selflessness for the group.
