God is both supernatural and natural.

An old ( and completly off the wall )religious ed teacher came up with a scenario.. What if God was really an alien being! This got me thinking . If that was the case then we would be a lab experiment, in as much that, if this 'Alien' had created some kind of life form {our own scientists can synthesis very basic life forms) then what we see as stars, would probably be electrons of atoms maybe .. black holes would be neutrons, and the vastness of space would be the gaps between,. As we see planets, asteroids and the like, they would just be debris in the spaces inbetween. That would make the Alien somewhat bigger than our universe. But hey who's to say. when you look at us compared to atoms. Any thing inside an atom couldn't possibly see us due to our physical differences in size ,,as it would be if we were the debris inside an atom ..and a spaceman was us by comparison. This question/ scenario has bugged me all my life.

The common belief of God would make him/her both is my take on it. They are supernatural because they exist outside of our universe and created it but because they interact and make changes within the universe they would be more than just supernatural and fall in to both definitions IMO.

Our observable, natural domain is inside the big bang "cone." God's supernatural domain is at least the entire page.

I think Peterson puts perfectly, how it is a personal question. God can be metaphysical to someone, he can be a source of a set of values regardless if he is metaphysically proven real or not. Nonetheless the idea of "God" is some ideal on top of the hierarchy of one's concept of values. It is also viable to assume that "God" being the ideal transcends one's Being into what the individual sees as grand. God is the eternal judge which makes a whole lot of sense considering the idea of the highest ideal looking at you. That said idea judges you and corrects you.

The point I am getting at is that God is not only supernatural for some, but it is more on that, for most it is an ideal, it is the transcendent Being, it is what you set your life to become something "more". Regardless if you believe in a metaphysical God or not, and are unconscious of that whole idea - that same idea plays a part in out psyche weather we like it or not.

Please define what exactly god is?

Your own definition will suffice for this poll. My personal definition is Yahweh, thus, the capital "G."
I want to be honest with you in this reply, but I really don't want to rehash the tired atheism debate. This is a question I've been mulling over today, since I listened to an excerpt of Pangburn's Dillahunty/Peterson discussion which revolves around the concept of the supernatural. Please insert your own concept and spelling of God should you be gracious enough to cast a vote. I sincerely appreciate your input.
