Does anyone else think that the progressives and, by extension, the Democrats will use this uproar with Ilhan Omar and the resolution that house has proposed to get their foot in the door to stifle free speech?
I feel like this would be an opportunity for them to start working in "hate speech" laws much like Canada's C16.
It's been at least a year since we've seen a major uproar from the left about free speech. Shutting down speakers like Ben Shapiro, Dinesh D'Souza aren't making the headlines like they were a year or so ago. And if I've learned anything, it's that the left loves to keep bringing up the same ol' controversy every so often just to keep the conservatives in a defensive position.
I would love to hear anyone's thoughts
Agree.. Canada? Look at the hate speech laws Germany has.. I can't not agree with her right to say it.. She was addressing the "power" of the "Jewish Lobby".. Actually it isn't far from the truth.. Lobbyists use our representatives no doubt.. What she said about "Obama" haha.. Hooray.. I would like to see Rand Paul weigh in on this.. The Repubs are taking the wrong turn on this one.. just dipping their foot into the PC.. Let's support free speech please..
