I first heard of the IDW while listening to the Ben Shapiro show (which I highly recommend). I am looking forward to gaining additional knowledge and insights via this community. Wondering what thoughts the group has on the impact the fresh new faces in the house of representatives will have on the Democratic party and the 2020 presidential election.
I think I have a prototype for a winning Democrat in the presidential race. He needs to be young, good looking, and Hispanic. If one, or both, of his parents were to be an immigrant, that would be ideal. He needs to be funny and a consensus builder. His own sense of security allows him to laugh off Trump attacks and paint our current present as an old doddering fool who doesn't want to share. So far I know the Democrats are salivating for just such a contender, but they are not going to like the last part. While staunchly supportive of equality for the LGBT community, this man must be pro-life. There is no way that doesn't divide disaffected Republicans who can no longer stomach Trump's "lesser qualities". If this candidate were to arise, it would be a slam dunk win for him and the Democrats in 2020. There are pro-life Democrats, but this scenario will never happen. I guess the Democrats don't want to win in 2020 after all.
Welcome to IDW. I joined pretty much for the same reason; however, since joining I have learned so very much from the individuals on the forum that share their ideas. I am looking forward to sharing mutually stimulating conversation. In my opinion the Democratic party is no longer the Democratic party; it has been hijacked by the Socialists. According to the following really great read, the mainstream democrats will seek out Joe Biden [forecastsandtrends.com]:
I don't have time to listen to Shapiro everyday but my 28 year is a huge fan!!
My 33 year old introduced me to Ben Shapiro. We have enjoyed many mutually fulfilling conversations as to where he believes the country is going. Our favorite show is when he interviews Steven Crowder.
Im thinking Nancy will lose the house if she lets the freshman manipulate her. In this last resolution the first draft words were "anti-Semitic statements will not be tolerated in these congressional halls. Now we see that it has been whittled down to what we learned in 3rd grade "don't be mean". Who leads here?
The fresh new faces represent a fresh new danger. Their sheer stupidity and blatant honesty in some of their more outrageous beliefs might lead the American Electorate to realize that they are plunging off a cliff.
It amazes me that so many younger people give serious creedence to the ideas of these people and of the philosophy of socialism in general. It is an unfortunate testimony of the capture of public education by the left.
I have a feeling things will not go well for the Democrats come 2020...
Except the Republicans can be counted on to wimp out in every possible way.
The party is definitely becoming more divided daily. The outcome can only be good for the Republicans.
Happy to broadcast that I have almost no foundation upon which to base a guess.
I feel safe asserting that they will spur more discussion of all the topics they are already spurring discussion about.
I assume it means that this means that party members and primary candidates will have to sharpen and clarify their beliefs and commitments, on those particular topics.
There'll be disagreement (always a safe bet), and people will come down on different sides of those issues. This might lead to the formation of two or more "camps".
Certain pollsters and pundits will get rich(er).
That's about all I've got.
