I like Jordan. He’s a classily trained psychologist, and thus a non believer in the immortal being. He’s wrong.

He will never admit it because it isn't wise to do so considering his fans are predominantly Christian.

His clearest explanation, that I've heard, is in this video. The discussion on religion, values, and God begin about 37 minutes into this discussion. At about 55 min in he begins to explain that he believes God is a metaphysical reality which our biology reflects.

I really dislike the "agnostic" position because it isn't a fair answer to the question. The question is about belief, not about knowledge. You either believe or you don't. Saying you "don't know" is completely different. Nobody actually "knows" that God exists or doesn't exist, they just believe or they don't believe. It seems like you are dodging the question when you take the agnostic position. I know some people will disagree with me, but just man up and pick a side! You can always change your answer! Lol.

As for Peterson, according to Peterson's own definition of "belief" and his own conceptualization of God, he is a believer. That said, if you are talking about most modern Christian Fundamentalist's definition of "belief" and their conceptualization of God, then he is probably best categorized as an atheist. He's fairly hard to pin down though, and his trajectory seems to be towards becoming more of a Believer rather then less.

In the past, if one dis-believed in the existence of a God, then he was an Atheist.
Agnostics were those who neither believed nor dis-believed in the existence of a God knowing that proof was impossible for either side of the "God exists" or "No such thing as God" controversy.

Definitions are important, and sometimes change. If we re-define God as that thing/drive within our own Life/existence to which we strive to achieve or to stay immersed within--then our own personal God certainly exists--whether, for example,-- Money, Sex, Power, or the Spirit of Truth.

I have come to think that besides being within us, there really likely is an external God at work in Earthly human matters. This may somehow have something to do with amalgamated deceased good-souls joined and working as an Egregore with certain powers---but that's pretty far-out supposition. I am 100% convinced that non-living spiritual evil exists--and this leads me to believe that spiritual Good--as in Angels and God-- also exists.

I laugh, He is on the verge of conversion.
How many times does he say"God only knows".
You can not seriously study the important stories of the Bible without being converted. It's a God thing not a matter of persuasion.

I feel Jordan Peterson is correct in his thinking. There is likely a being of some kind that is responsible for our creation, but to believe in the God of any religion, without blind faith, is impossible. As fathers, we would never let one of our family members die while saving another if we had the power to prevent it. To pick and choose who lives and who dies is evil, selfish, and wrong. Now to believe that a God provided the opportunity of life to do with as we will, and to reap the rewards or our deeds in an afterlife, that is something I can believe in.

Pope Frank also, I strongly suspect.

Maybe a closet without a door? Hard to say. I consider agnosticism an intellectually honest position. God says "seek and you will find."

I did...I’m a Gnostic.

Maybe he is, good for him I say.

Jordan Peterson has said countless times "He lives as though God exists", while simultaneously has admitted he can't stretch his deep understanding of the bible enough to conceptualize what God actually is. Having watched a vast number of his videos, listened to numerous lectures of his, and read 2 of his books, I'm convinced he's a closet agnostic, and not simply a Christian who prays to a man in the sky.

I'm happy to be proved wrong.
