Once the site develops more, I think it could be interesting to host an Ideological Turing Test.

The link below shows and example between atheists and Christians. Both sides are given the same questions, and both sides write responses from both perspectives. Then, the audience has to determine which responses were written by Christians, which were written by atheists imitating Christians, etc.

If you're able to imitate the other side well, then you know that you have understood their arguments and perspective.

It doesn't have to be atheists and Christians, it could be any topic of interest to the community.

This is a fascinating idea. I would be very interested in participating. We would have to work very hard at the format to make it work, however.

It reminds me of something that I have heard Jonathan Haidt say, altho I forget exactly where, about when they tested conservatives, moderates, and liberals and found that liberals didn't understand conservatives, but the opposite was not true. My guess is that is what this test would discover.
