The promise in this video is that these suits will reform the media, will they? Or, is it just a fat pay day for the kid?

Fat payday

Good question. I think what's more likely is they start getting replaced. And the more they castigate anyone to the right of Karl Marx as a Nazi, the more likely that is to happen.

I'm more interested in keeping the journalist in a perspective of operating honestly and that they are aware of repercussions. To do their jobs dishonestly being fact checkers could yeild financial or maybe termination consequences.

I don't believe that this will REFORM the media. i believe it will CHANGE the media. if sandmann wins the law suit , then the media will start running their stories thru a lawyer/law service before going forward with a story. even if the story is untrue ,but will still draw ratings they will weigh law suit aginst the ratings and at times still go forward with fake news. ----i do not believe that it would take a group of lawyers that long to look over a story and still get it out in the news----nothing will really change except for the process

Well, the kid might get a “Fat Paycheck” ... obviously something much less than the amount being sued for ... after all the “awards” for winning can be as small as a dollar.

On the other hand ... since there seems to be no other way to force the “Media” back into line ... perhaps, if they can be made to Pay Until They Bleed (their lawyers’ fees, court costs, the fine itself ...) they will smarten up and address their own problems and biases.

More likely they will start their own “GoFundMe” page and beg the Liberal Left to “Pay Their Fair Share” for THEM producing and propping up THEIR “Message” ...

I wonder how that would go?

I hope both as well.
The kid shouldn't have to worry about money for the rest of his life since his name has been dragged through the mud. He might as well consider a career in politics.
Between the dollar amount awarded to him through the suits and the continuing trend of people unplugging from cable networks, this may very well be a hole the powerful mainstream media can't climb out of.
