As I sift through the news I am constantly amazed at how people react to the words of others. People say things in haste, in anger, in ignorance, out of spite, and sometimes because they are not thinking. It is human nature. It has been happening since people started verbal communications. And most import we have all done it and will continue to do it as we are not perfect.

Why then, despite the fact that we all do it, and will do it, and we know that those statements made in anger or because we didn’t think, are not who we truly are or what we may not believe, why then do we allow those remarks from others to send us into hysterical tantrums, and irrational anger.

And why are we so willing to forgive hateful remarks from some (understand the above) and then lynch others? Why are we so willing to be intellectually dishonest with ourselves?

Why do we allow our buttons to be pushed? Why do we allow ourselves to be manipulated? The false sense of moral superiority in society is repugnant.

This one is basically a question of why we aren’t more rational as creatures, expressed as “why do we exhibit double standards in regards to events with an emotional charge?” The answer is that millions of years of evolution have made our brains this way. It’s not always the most rational creature that survives, especially the closer you are to nature (think early tribes). We have lived closer to nature than almost any human alive on this planet today for the vast majority of our development. To expect us not to be more rational is to complain over milk that was spilt millennia ago.

@Wtretired I live those last two sentences every day lol.

"A soft answer turneth away wrath, bur grievious words stir up anger" Proverbs 15:1

“Do not say, “I cannot help having a bad temper.” Friend, you must help it. Pray to God to help you overcome it at once, for either you must kill it, or it will kill you. You cannot carry a bad temper into heaven.” – Charles Spurgeon

“A quick anger will make a fool of you soon enough.”

“Anger doesn’t solve anything It builds nothing, but it can destroy everything.”

We are trained to present ourselves in commercial terms . People evaluate us as either assets or liabilities .

Human nature at times is most puzzling...

More fascinating than puzzling . I wrote about 120.000 words on related subjects .
