In this site's About page: "...effectively address important issues of modern life - such as climate change, income inequality, growing under-employment, and disparities in racial and gender outcomes"

This is all nonsense talking points from the left. I don't believe that this site legitimately embraces IDW ideals. I'm leaning towards the notion that it's basically a sham capitalizing on the IDW brand.

Convince me otherwise.

Thanks for your feedback. When I first wrote it, I was thinking that by mentioning the top talking points of the Left, it would highlight that the IDW has explanations and recommendations for them. I realize now that it can be interpreted that our would be the same as the Left. So, to make the mission more accurate, I simply removed it. Please note that this mission statement is a collaborative process. Here's my first post on it: "Wanted to get your feedback on our updated mission statement on the about us page (see https:/about ..."

Thanks for your response. Yes, I feel it reads much better; it seems more agnostic. The hot button issues will find their way into the fray organically and be thoroughly hashed out 🙂

Well the ultra fuzzy mindset is simple to ignore. Write around them. You don’t HAVE to engage.
There’s plenty of interesting stuff here to comment on and ...
Sometimes it’s simply fun to go onto a “fuzzy” thread and laugh at them ... there’s no requirement to be “nice”.

Just FYI, I replied to the tread about the text of the mission statement.

@Admin
First time I read the “about” page ...
I try to be civil but sometimes I simply have to scoff or throw in heavily laden sarcasm but I do try not to make it too personal but that’s tough when I’m addressing someone’s “thought process”.
I guess I’m not very good at #7 ... I don’t really mean to be long winded but I try to be clear and that takes some doing.

Strongly disagree. Very few posts from regressive leftists and Marxists. Most posts are by classical liberals and conservatives. Very few posts from the "alt-right".

If you want to see a sham site, try [agnostic.com] . It is infested with regressive leftists who claim to be objective, rational freethinkers.

Yes, I've been reading a lot of good posts here. But what I pointed out doesn't exactly ring of IDW ideals. Lets just say that I'm adopting a wait and see approach.

@SpikeTalon Being opposed to censorship of any kind, I suppose that there is little that can be done about that.

@SpikeTalon Or, possibly the motivation of the creators of a site. And, to me, the About information doesn't seem too agnostic to me. But, all of that being said, I fully understand the difficulty of setting up a site such as this and to "get it right" as it were. But it just really struck me.

@SpikeTalon You seem to be talking about an actual site? Agnostic site? If so, I'm not familiar with it.

What I'm after is a platform that embraces IDW ideals which, in my mind, is basically a primer on how to have full throated conversations regarding almost any topic in an open, polite, and intellectually honest manner with the hope of coming to real solutions to real problems.

As I've pointed out I have seen a lot of good conversations thus far, which is why I have not yet made up my mind. But I do have my suspicions. Based on what I've seen over the last few years, call my gun shy.

@kravmaga I understand. Sorry for the confusion about the other site, I was responding to someone else's comment in which he did bring that site up. Can't say I blame you for being cautious.

@SpikeTalon @kravmaga This is the site referred to in the parent comment:
[agnostic.com]
