@DinsdaleWalden I admit it was tough for me to leave Facebook because it was the way I was keeping in touch with a number of people. I announced that I was going to leave well in advance (about a month) and made sure everyone had my MeWe link and my email address. A few followed me to MeWe, and a few chose to keep in touch via email. Those few who decided not to bother with it must not have cared too much.

Mainly, I took a pretty big hit to my blog traffic when leaving Twitter (a few years ago) and Facebook (last year), but it was a small price to pay for adhering to my principles, I guess. Now, I'm not condemning anyone who has taken another route, only sharing my own perspective. There are good arguments to be made at this point both for and against leaving.
