We should diversify our options of meat intake and try to escape the heavy use of cow and pig.

As a pig farmer I say that is a horrible idea. Just horrible! Also my pasture raised pork is more healthy than almost any beef you can buy at the grocery store.

So you would not raise other animals?

Raise what you want. Just buy my pigs.

First, I guess you are posting this as a question? Ok, why? Health, environment, you just watched Charlotte's Web?

Second, there is tuna, chicken, turkey, halibut, shrimp, salmon, tilapia, catfish, and may other meats at my local supermarket. So I would say the average consumer does vary their mean input - or at least has the option if they wish. Most people I know eat more chicken/turkey than pork or beef (cost and health). That doesn't include the large freezers full of duck, turkey, venison that are stocked by hunters every winter and catfish, bass, crappie every summer.

Bison tastes good! So does deer. And antelope. And rabbit. And pheasant. And Quail. And Dove...

(note the only one of these I haven't actually killed, skinned and eaten myself is bison)
