I almost feel a sting of sympathy for Joe Biden these days.
He's so utterly filled with himself AND out of touch with today's realities that he, just like a 5-year lost in the wood, thinks he will get home by just pushing forward towards the horizon.
I don't think this will stop him from running, but, it lower his chances to beat whoever the Loony Left eventually rallies behind in the primaries from moderate to grim…
Also -- this whole thing - the perfect timing, the nature of the accusations, etc. - has a distinct stink of Clinton over it.
I have never been able put put my suspicion aside that Hillary is still hoping for a miracle that forces the Democratic Party to draft her as a last-minute compromise candidate in 2020. And as we all know, she has a history of producing her own miracles.
Therefore, just for fun, let's add a poll here:
Trap ...no trap

I grew up in a large touchie-feely-huggy family. It was all good. The problem with Biden's tactile approach is that he is in a position of authority. The women and children he is lovin', touchin', sniffin' can not reproach him and risk making a scene in front of the cameras. He really should know better.
Biden touches children. Google "creepy uncle Joe"
My bracket pick is he's white, male, old, and he just doesn't fit the image of the modern progressive president the far left envisions. AOC, the Muslims, but also the likes of Hirono, Harris, Booker (don't think Warren has a prayer), socialists, and the old-corrupt-guard want an energetic young face of color--preferably female to play ultimate victim to Trump's old white male 'bullying'. I mean their whole narrative has converged to this point against this President. Must be irresistible. I don't think you need to look further than this.
It's interesting to see what goes around and comes around. I remember Joe Biden saying his party was taken over by the "hard left" in 1972. He was part of that takeover. Now his party is being taken over by hard socialists. And he's being shoved out.
There was a Twilight Zone episode where the state employed a man who was judging others as irrelevant. Then came the day when a new man was appointed, and he judged the man he replaced as irrelevant. Interesting episode and exactly what socialist do to one another.
