If I ran the DNC or RNC this would worry me very much. What do you think causes this? Is it the same factors for both parties?

Yeah, there was my geezer self skewing more independent. Both parties missing a third of their constituents.

I don't think it is, and I would be much more concerned about my party if I were a Republican.
