For the people who believe in smaller government, do you want ANY programs or government help or do you think there should be absolutely none?

I say we stcik to what the Constitution says. The government should be there for our protection, police, fire fighters, military etc.....

I’m going to have to go with the Constitution too. The Government has far overreached what is Constitutional. It’s our job to push back to the land of the free and the home of the brave.

I consider myself a minarchist libertarian. No government, no state whatsoever, is an ideological state that perhaps is what we should strive toward but never achieve.

Government should exist only to protect the rights of individuals and I don't mean privileges. Essentially they are the right to the sanctity of person and property. The American Constitution and Bill of Rights outlines them fairly well.

Strip the Federal Government down to what is allowed by the constitution, also do away with any and all laws that go against what the constitution allows.... 99% of all laws would be done away with and our freedom would be restored. and the tax payers won't need to pay but 5 - 10% of their pay as taxes...

Take all the programs that double or triple (or worse) and get rid of the excess

Then cut government back to what is proscribed in the Constitution

Start there

I want, at the bare minimum, Law Enforcement, Justice System, Fire Stations, road and highway pavement and street cleaning, airport maintenance, Ambulance and Emergency sytems, and maintenance of public beaches.

But....by most libertarian standards, what I want requires "big government".

Yeah. That's way too much. LOL

@FrankZeleniuk Oh, and I forgot to mention public education (K-12). LOL.

I think the lines between governance and the Nanny state have been blurred. Im not even sure myself which is which and whats right. Yes protection of the vulnerable but it seems sometimes human nature exploits every opportunity and some may make themselves appear vulnerable to take advantage of the Nanny state.
