Solar didn't work out to well for them.
Two lessons:
Most solar is a scam.
If you depend upon the gov'mt you are a fool.
Solar is just for supplementing the main power generation, for an emergency or off grid it is not bad in use with a wind and a generator, as a primary residency...no.
@HerrDarkAgain Solar as supplement fails, too. The deal is that base power generation to be economical (so poor people pay less) it has to run at constant level. Yeah, they can follow load, but that decreases efficiency and increases the odds of failure.
So, daily solar --- which only runs from couple hours after dawn to couple hours before dusk -- means base units must run down or off; and then ramp up right after folks get home from work and need the most power.
Without reliable and economical storage solar is a waste. Virtue signaling, of course. But, never gonna make it. It is a tech that doesn't solve a problem and is not yet ready.
