Is this the beginning of the government censoring us. I installed a 'new' security program from Eastlink. This is what I saw when I tried to go to a page I go to on a daily basis.
The liberal Bill C-11 is alive and working people!!!

"I installed a 'new' security program from Eastlink."

So what you are saying is that you voluntarily installed a program from a privately held corporation that doesn't currently recognize that website and so it throws a caution but has a pretty clear option to add it to your whitelist and let you use hassle-free moving forward... and this is government censorship?

Well that was a rather dumb thing to say.
Yes, I installed a program from my ISP as it was to increase security. Reads the info and it seemed OK.
First time I tried to log in to that website (and there are many others as well) I got that message. Yes I cold white list it, but my concern is how did they decide that that particular website is one I should visit. Who gave them the list? I am sure they did not have someone at 'head office' go through all the billions and billions of site to add to the list.
Bill C-11 is happening whether we like it or not!
.

@NewbieMAGA you must be a comedian in your day job as that was one of the funniest thing I have read today!.
Oh wait, I just read that a liberal poll says people love the liberals.
NOW that is funny

@JohnBurke virus / firewall programs use several databases of websites to know what to block or what is safe. Sometimes a website is scanned and found to have malware and gets reported, and so the big name virus programs will blacklist or throw up warnings. Other times programs will pull a whitelist of safe and well known sites and then throw warnings on others.

I've never heard of librti before. Granted I don't live in Canada, but it doesn't seem like a well known website. Your security program doesn't recognize it, and is doing its job by letting you know that it doesn't have a record and can't guarantee its safety. Add it to your whitelist and move on. Maybe that will then be reported to the company and they will add it to their whitelist database for other users.

I still fail to see how a privately held corporation's actions is akin to government censorship.

@JacksonNought
It was more than just that one website. Patriotpost.us is blocked as well an many other conservative site.
I removed the program and can do it again, but today, 2 sites I visit daily would not load until I turned on my VPN.
As for your remark on the Government censorship, that is exactly what is happening here in Canada Bill C-11 will censor anything the Government does not like, so this is just the beginning. Just pointing out it has already stared regardless whether is is law now or not.
If happens here, it will be just a matter of time before the US gets it.

@JohnBurke I still fail to see how a privately held corporation is government censorship. Blame the corporation all you want for its actions, but it isn't government censorship. It's no different than the US Conservatives crying about government censorship and 1st Amendment violations when Twitter removes a post for TOS violations.

"Patriotpost.us is blocked" well what do you mean by that? Is it actually "blocked" or is it the same as your screen shot where you can easily view the site by saying it is safe? If it is actually blocked, well it is a US website (as indicated by the top level domain .us) and maybe because of international issues it is blocked without a VPN. Much like how you can't watch US Netflix in the UK, or vice versa, because of different national laws and licenses.

Your ignorance on technology and the Internet does not make it government censorship.

@JacksonNought
In Canada the liberal government wants to censor our access to the Internet unless the sites adhere to their rules and regulations. The is a government bill called C-11 that when passed will cause this. It just seemed rather a coincidence that as the time gets closer for the Bill to be passed, my ISP is already trying to censor where I can go to!
If it goes over here, then the US will be next. Are you OK with the Government telling you what websites you can visit???

@JohnBurke "seemed rather a coincidence" - yes and that is exactly it, a coincidence. The government was not trying to censor you, and this had absolutely zero to do with the bill. And yet again, it takes all of .5 seconds to say "this site is fine" and never have to deal with it being "blocked" again.

NOT censorship.

@JacksonNought Think all you might, but it is more than a co-incidence.
Sure you can say ok, but then it keeps coming up on conservative sites. Who gave them a list to try and censor?

@JohnBurke I already explained. But you seem set in your established narrative that no amount of explanation or logic will change your mind.
