With every belief, it reaches a point where something came before it, and if you ask a question about the before, it then becomes a vicious cycle of questions.
The "Deluge" in the context of the Holy Bible refers to the story of Noah's Ark and the great flood. According to the Bible, God sent a worldwide flood to cleanse the earth of wickedness. Noah and his family were chosen to build an ark and save pairs of all the animals. The story is primarily found in the Book of Genesis, chapters 6-9.
But before the Holy Bible, there was a similar story possibly originating from the Sumerians recorded on cuneiform tablets.

Feel free to reply to any comment by clicking the "Reply" button.This ties nicely with the flood a bit after the last ice age (circa 14K BC) when something abruptly broke the ice dam in northern Canada. Wiped out everything now 40 feet below present sea level. The land bridge twixt NAmerica and Asia, Doggerland connecting England and France, etc. Whole civilizations were scrubbed clean in just days.

how you watched the series ancient apocalypses they figure earth was hit by a comet about 18,000 years ago comets are mostly ice. and that north América had about 1 mile of ice and snow over it that melted in about 2-3 months and caused mast flooding wide wide.
@1patriot That might be the same thing. Dates are vague since most everything documenting the event got flooded. And, the initiating event (comet??) is also not known. But, a lot of water was suddenly released from NCanada and that changed the current in the Atlantic for quite a while. It also created some river/flood beds in Idaho.
