Yep. The San Francisco city council rather than take care of the feces on the street, as well as the needles, has decided that the NRA is a domestic terrorist group. As a lifetime member of NRA, with the highest membership status available, I would say I am shocked and dismayed at this turn of events. But then again, not so much. Methinks they think they matter.

It’s incredibly difficult to understand what is wrong with these idiots when they actually think the NRA is in any way responsible for the recent shootings.

This actually sounds like propaganda, made up statements. The NRA is only for education and fighting for the 2nd amendment. It actually condemns illegal activities with a gun. It does not manufacture or sell weapons, it does not train how to use them. It does suggest learning how and why to use them. So it is obvious any politicians supporting statements like this are supporting removing your Rights.

Absolutely spot-on. One other area that is very concerning to me is the red flag laws which have been proposed and in some cases enacted. I have no objections to these laws, if due process is followed and the targets of the law are able to defend themselves in some way. What bothers me, is we could run into a situation where someone dislikes another, or gets into an argument, and then makes a complaint which triggers the law.

We do need protection from those with mental health issues. However, who defines the mental health issue? The Soviet Union was famous for using mental institutions to house those who objected to the party line for example, Anatoly Sharansky. They use those tactics for people who were relatively famous oh, the other simply disappeared into the gulag.

Many people who hate guns consider those of us who use them and like them to have a mental disorder.

@DAN_STL the "Red Flag" laws are bs, if you look at active laws, it's already there, no special law needed. Some in government are trying to bypass the 4th and 5th amendments and get everyone to accept it so changing the Bill of Rights will be easier.

@MilesPurdue unfortunately, many years ago I had some experience with this. My father was a paranoid schizophrenic. The best thing for him would be to be institutionalized. My grandmother wouldn't hear of it, and I was too young and naive to put up a fight. At that time to have someone committed there would have to be a court hearing, testimony from experts, physicians, psychiatrists, and so forth. as well as from the family which was impossible with the way my grandmother felt. As I said, I reflected upon all this, and I reach the decision that this was the proper way to go

Commitment takes away all legal, human, and citizen rights from the subject.

Mental health is a minefield. My father could be a functioning member of society from day to day. However, although he never was violent, when he went off he was crazy.

@DAN_STL you're right about mental health being a mind field, funny pun, but I found most schizophrenics fear guns, paranoid of knowing causes harm or death so get too nervous to pick one up. With the laws I've read it is just attorneys and judges debating what the word "if" means. All the bs falls back to control and feeling superior. People are getting too far when debating what a word means. With the regulations of manufacturing a gun and personal modification it is obvious fully automatic is understandably restricted, though needed for defense under the 2a. With restrictions of owning a personal weapon goes against the Constitution, not the 2nd Amendment. Self-Defense was agreed upon in the Magna Carta, was no need in the Bill of Rights, self defense is a Human Right, any taking that away wants to fully control you and as this country has grown the citizens refuse slavery.
