There is nothing stopping Democrats and other anti-Constitutionalists from calling themselves Republicans. Without the restraint of ethical behavior guiding them, it is advantageous for many to cash in on the solidity of the true Republican philosophy to get elected, as well as to defeat true Republicans. John McCain is a good example, Mitt Romney, Susan Collins, Bob Dole and George Bush, among many others.
@TimTuolomne well that certainly settles that.
