Parts of Georgia are beautiful. Also, The Carolinas.

Thank you! NY has really gone down the tubes 😟

@aroonius I spent a few months in the Albany area after I graduated high school That was over 20 years ago. I really liked it back then. I also have a soft spot for NYC. I can understand why you want to leave tho. I'm sure its gotten worse since I was there NW Arkansas where I live is nice too.

@Sacha799 yeah there are aspects I like, but the govt policies are horrific, and it's extremely expensive😟

@aroonius I can only imagine how expensive it is. It was expensive 20 years ago. I'm sure it's worse now.

They are not getting Virginia. Have you seen the 2A sanctuary map?

Idaho, Washington State, Oregon and Western Montana. Avoid Seattle and Portland.

thank you!

If you're from NYC, anywhere is good. I'm partial to the Gulf Coast, southern MO, northern AR, and rural TN and KY. Lots of good places.

I just returned from Pigeon Forge, Tennessee. TN was late to shut down over Covid and quick to get things moving. At first, they were being negatively compared to the restrictive KY Governor’s approach on stats then the balance shifted. Now you hear “cases are spiking!” in TN, they are doing mass testing and they’re doing well. I have friends who live in Knoxville and north of Nashville. Tennessee is part of the proverbial Bible Belt. At the same time, it’s always been more tourist & business friendly, open and free compared to its neighbor to the north. Overall, if you are considering leaving New York, I’d look at Tennessee.

Depends on your tastes.

Yours are probably not the same as mine. I fear that many in this country want to change the US further away from Constitutionalism, so I'm considering other countries which are more representative republic now than we are.

If you like New England architecture, you won't find it in the West.

If you like beaches, you won't find them in the mountains.....

NE Tennessee, which is where I live, is pretty nice. The area I’m in reminds me of the USA circa 1980s which is the country I grew up in. Same demographics too. Most people are friendly, conservative, and religious.

I just wrote my recommendation to look at TN as I just returned from Pigeon Forge/Sevierville and now reading your note about NE Tennessee.

Tennessee is great. Low cost of living, no state income tax and warm weather. Also, the eastern part of the state has not been enriched yet.

Ya better not mind hot, humid summers and mosquitoes.

@TimTuolomne true. Just stock up on bug spray and find a good watering hole! In the Smokie mountains, near the rushing water, you can find respite especially after a good rainfall.
