Yep, the only people that count are myself and those from who I can extract money.

I think you misunderstand Nietzsche... Unless you're trying to be facetious in some way I don't get.

And shouldn't it be "from whom I can extract money"?

@Tycho Winston Churchill once said "Ending a sentence with a preposition is something up with which I will not put" There comes a point where philosophical reflection is pure idealism and no longer useful in a practical sense. All governments since the beginning of time have been tyranny to some. Men can be tyrants to their wives, mothers to their children, the weather to everyone. Every person has something in their heart of hearts, but being a victim of tyranny that something is cold comfort. Many difficult and unpleasant things happen in life and the only cure is to refuse to be a victim.

@Pand0ro To Nietzsche governments, religions, societies etc. were all a bit tyrannical - demanding conformity and orthodoxy, and ultimately reducing us. He didn't feel a victim. Quite the contrary; He felt the utter need to explore his thoughts and ideas regardless of other's opinions. Not to whine but to struggle anyway.

In a way this quote reminds me of a line from the Declaration of Independence... "Mankind are more disposed to suffer, while Evils are sufferable, than to right themselves...

In todays actual growing tyranny... perhaps an inward change would release us from the strangle-hold the Left has kept us in for decades.
