The more we understand a problem, the better we deal with it, education is important to all. We don’t know it all.
Of course I have heard of slavery trades, not all that was stated here. We hope we can eradicate this terrible situation for these poor people. Some countries, will not help, as we know, but we must never give up.

The question is... how do we convince those on the political left that indeed slavery is a problem in other countries?

When you just can't pick a few acres off of this massive planet and build a cabin with your own hands, and support yourself living off the land, and/but instead-- therefore are forced into the "work industry" of the current society backed by the power of a military because they have already claimed the land, then you are already a slave.

I don't know if u can motivate activists to take on slavery because it is not something that influences their day to day lives. It is just a fact that is kept way in the back of their minds and until it hits home on a personal level I think most will just ignore it.

I feel that way about multiple issues. We have come so far in the West yet don't recognize that we have addressed, to a great degree, so many issues like slavery, equal rights (based on race, gender, sexual preference), environmental conservation and much more. Yet, the left is not able to let go of the past and have chosen to manufacture a crisis for everything redirecting the focus which in reality should be on the rest of the world.
