In discussing the inappropriateness of certain words, I've heard it said that there's a word that you can call a woman that is equally as offensive as a particular racial slur. To which I replied, "I beg to differ I could walk out into a very public space with thousands of people around if I shouted Nigger. Then if I shouted Cunt. Which do you think would get my ass kicked" So I maintain that being able to say a word in public makes that word definitely not as bad. Thoughts? Opinions?

The origin of the N word is the same as Caucasian. Those that coming from Africa and some other continent with a dark skin has been classified as Negroid. This is there the N word came from. I don't get why we making such a big deal about the N word, I will not care if someone call me a Caucasian!

Then why did you say n word? But you wrote out Caucasian?

@Rus-T-Balls , I know exactly why you said that. I was only referring the N word as the same way it was refered in the question. Also Social Media filter words and usually deplatforming those that using it. I will be surprised that IDW will do that, but you are right; Caucasian or Niger is no different is you compare them from their root meaning. However les social left appropriate true Niger word and make it a racial slur. Funny enough, those who using the N word the most are black people...but if a non-black using it you are automatically racist...

Maybe it's an American thing, but in the UK, it's a common used swear. I'm female and I've never found it offensive in the slightest. I actually say it myself pretty regularly. I called my sister a dopey cunt earlier today.

Definitely taboo on this side, further proving the point.

Interesting point. To me, the N word is 10X worse. It was used to refer even to innocent people as recently as the mid 20th century. The C word is used to address a women who is a really huge bottom feeding jerk. It is most of the time used towards one is deserving of it. Also, the C word is so trashy and outrageous, it is almost amusing.

I feel like I need to be clear, I don't care to use it as a part of my regular vernacular. I'm simply saying if you want to have a discussion about anything, then we actually have to say the words.

Intelligent insults are respectable, and people with limited vocabularies are extremely transparent and boring.

Agreed, and I think the faux outrage over the word nigger is ridiculous. If they can use it, then so can I.

I honestly believe that there are no offensive words. There are defensive and offensive reactions to words.

There is a word used as a term for a woman that is also racist. Squaw, as used to refer to a woman of Native American descent is doubly pejorative as it specifically means "female genitalia".

I used to live in the shadow of squaw peak

@Rus-T-Balls wasn't it Squaw Tit Peak?

@Mike9465 tit?

@Mike9465 it was re-named after a veteran it's called piestewa peak now

@Rus-T-Balls

@Mike9465 Arizona has the squaw peak I was referring to not Canada

I know what word you're referring to there, and I agree, generally using that word out in public won't stir up the mob...

And to be honest I had typed it out and I censored myself because I felt that if they actually read the words it would be too much, likely getting my post removed, and that makes me a little sad and a little upset.

@Rus-T-Balls Your post most likely wouldn't have been deleted, but probably would have gotten eidted though. I get you on the upset/sad part there, but in the long run I think Admin has the right idea. Quite a few times I've been tempted to use some... rather colorful language on here, but refrained from doing so. If we want this site to be successful, we have to do our part when possible. I suggest leaving the foul language to the trolls and leftists, while the decent conservative and libertarian folks on this site take the moral high ground by having a more diverse vocabulary. I think such restraint will only benefit us and the site as a whole in the long run, by proving to others this site is indeed different from your average social media site, a site (this site) that truly has meaningful conversations and debates. Just my take on that, and I had actually considered doing a stand alone post on the topic which I still may do yet...

@SpikeTalon I did hear from admin that with proper context those words would be allowed so I edited my post to reflect how my conversation actually went

@SpikeTalon to leftist and trolls there is no moral high ground.
