I am a Canadian. Born and bred here. I understand that our culture is not the same as those bred in America. Guns are integral to their way of thinking. They gained their freedom from Government oppression by killing government oppressors. Here in Canada, we did it in a more peaceful way. But still, I cannot help but see the value in having a populace who is armed and able to fight for their freedom. Because, it seems obvious to me that Government and its bureaucracies will grow endlessly forever until there comes such a time when we will actually have to fight to be free from them.
I think that many people miss an important part of the gun culture. The very act of procuring a firearm, training to use it and taking other steps to safely operate it changes ones view of the world. In my opinion it liberates you from a sheep's mentality. Anti 2nd amendment leaders who understand this change in mindset are fearful of you as you are no longer easily led to slaughter. Those of us who were born into the culture are a bit different because we do not have as much resentment for being used as pawns.
Sure you are not a sleeper cell American?
Keep talking here because many Americans don't understand the 2nd Amendment or why it's important
If you haven't read The Federalist Papesr (just Google) it will explain the thinking behind America's form of Republic (never has been a Democracy)
And BTW, welcome. Should have led with that
