I find it interesting and telling that the Media and the democratic party insist on calling Mrs Biden, Dr Biden because of her doctorate of education degree but seldom if ever acknowledge Senator Rand Paul for his actual medical degree. His fully earned title is Senator Doctor Rand Paul. As such he's probably the most qualified person in the Senate to question Dr Fauci and I'm certain, despite Dr Fauci's protestations, that he understands perfectly what Gain of Function Research is as well as what Dr Fauci is doing and has done.
