The few Swiss families that run the banks are protected by a fragile understanding with their government. If they think they will be free of eventual intervention by the Davos Dunces, they are delusional.

And totalitarian regimes always consume their leadership. Reading the history of Communist regimes is a description of that very thing, with the possible exception of Mao, who seemed to die naturally, because he was so ruthless in killing off any leadership who seemed to be a threat - something Saddam Hussein tried to emulate, not quite as successfully.

Those at the top should not get comfortable. Those underneath are not limited by the civil rules of a Democratic Republic.

The Swiss successfully stayed clear of Stalin to some degree. The new boss is far more dangerous.
