I know it's just one, but I grew up with a tomboy sister that, as you say, grew into a beautiful woman after puberty.
So, 12% of the boys remained gender dsyphoric. I agree the prevalence of people calling themselves trans is way out of proportion to reality and historical 'norms'. A recent study of high school students found 11% claiming to be transgender. That is 100 times the historical numbers.
BUT that doesn't mean WE don't actually exist.
So you're saying that it's okay to destroy 88% for the sake of the 12%.
@GaryMysels On the contrary. But you can't assume because 88% get over any confusion that the 12% are just slow learners and they'll get over it sooner or later.
The current leftist obsession with "transgender" is a self destructive behavior - for all concerned. Transsex people have been around a long time and are generally somewhere between .25 and .4% of the population. There has been a good system of vetting those with actual dsyphoria and those with other issues that has been all but thrown away since about 2015-2017. We need to get back to it.
@tracycoyle I refer you to sqeptiq's astute comment on the matter.
Don't transition them to permanent dysfunction!
as @GaryMysels has pointed me to your comment (which I saw initially!), I will add a reply: Yes, for those 88% it would be a horrific nightmare to allow them a medical transition. However, for the 12%, it is a blessing.
