Good journalist are out there, like the Tim Pool. For the corona virus, I had ADV China, so I had a month head start on COVID-19.
What does ethical actually mean. Could it mean don't get caught hurting peoples feelings? The state of mainstream media was pretty bad pre-Trump. It was routine to produce the news or more correctly repeat politically correct narratives. CNN got repeatedly caught producing news, but they seem unfazed by this, as far as their ethical compass was concerned they were not guilty. Gawker was an extreme example of malicious reputation destruction employed by media. Gawker favored destroying people who could not fight back.
In some sense that over the top headline is transparent, its not a hidden narrative. NPR/PBS is one of the worst as they go to great lengths to misrepresent, all in service of their political addenda.
The release will only be meaningful in context. If not posted next to case and death statistics for the common cold (non-novel coronavirus,) flu and other common seasonal infections, the same is true here. If you don't know those numbers, how are you prepared to evaluate anything?

one very pertinent factor consistently left out of ALL press releases or announcements or news conferences - age and health condition of the people who have died with COVID19
