"(Gardner), bar owner charged with fatally shooting (Scurlock) in May during protests in Omaha, Nebraska died by suicide in Oregon on Sunday, according to Gardner's attorneys."
(I replaced "white man" with Gardner and "unarmed Black man" with Scurlock) Honestly, I'm past tired with humoring "journalists" with their wording issues. I'll save my frustrations on that issue for another day.

"Surveillance video seemed to show words exchanged between Gardner, his father and protesters before Gardner, flashing a gun, backed away. Gardner was shoved to the ground by two people before he fired two shots, sending people scrambling. Scurlock then jumped on Gardner's back and was shot by Gardner."

This update I just found in Jake Gardners case, strikes a chord with me. This is an individual who was a Trump supporter, but also a man in the belief of freedom of speech. It is a tragedy that he ended up killing anyone, regardless of color or political belief.

Hundreds protested in the streets of Omaha following the death of Scurlock. Jake recieved death threats. His GoFundMe page was also taken down. He was forced to move. What should have been a case of self defense, turned into the martyrdom of Scurlock.

Jake was defending his buisness and was put in a situation many people are facing: Defend, or succumb. Succumb can also mean your own death. It is truly tragic anyone would be forced into this situation and infuriating that some leaders are bending over backwards for these mobs.

"Dornan said Gardner was a decorated veteran of multiple tours in Iraq, saying he suffered two traumatic brain injuries. Gardner said he felt like he was in a war zone the night of Scurlock's death, Dornan said."

Gardner, according to the video in the above article, was suffering PTSD trauma during the riots. When the pole was driven through his bars window, he thought it was a bullet. When people began advancing on the bar, through the opening, he confronted them. This entire case should not have even made it as far as it did. If you are involved in riots, looting, vandalism, as well as instigate violence against someone else. They have every right to defend themselves.

Additionally, this has been speculated as suicide. I've only just found out, so I'm unsure if it's fact. Either way, my heart goes out to his family and friends. It's equally upsetting that this may not make it to MSM.

Nebraska Democrats say Don Kleine ‘perpetuated white supremacy,’ angering veteran prosecutor

[nebraskadailynews.com]
"OMAHA — The Nebraska Democratic Party on Saturday criticized Douglas County Attorney Don Kleine for comments about James Scurlock, who was fatally shot during a Black Lives Matter protest that turned violent in the Old Market, saying Kleine “perpetuated white supremacy.”
"Kleine, a Democrat who has won four terms as county attorney, reacted angrily Sunday, saying he would think about changing his party affiliation."

Scurlock's dad, attorney slam Kleine; 'the community deserves better than to dehumanize the victim'

[journalstar.com]
"James Scurlock II, father of the 22-year-old Omahan who was killed May 30 amid unrest in Omaha’s Old Market, said he won’t believe that the man who took his son’s life killed himself until he sees an autopsy or a report."
"The elder Scurlock questioned how Jake Gardner, 38, could have killed himself, alleging that he had a police escort when he left Omaha after May 30. Law enforcement officials say that’s not true."
“I will not believe that suicide until I see documentation,” Scurlock said."
"In recent months, Wayne said, Scurlock’s relatives held off on sponsoring rallies or gatherings because they didn’t want to influence witnesses in the case. An online fundraiser has netted almost $276,000. Some of that money is being used for a college fund for Scurlock’s daughter. More of it will be used to set up a scholarship fund in connection with the volleyball club, Wayne said."

James Scurlocks father said Douglas County Prosecutor dehumanized his son. He's seeking civil suits. After Frederick Franklin dehumanized Jake Gardner this is infuriating.

I wanted to add any Slug Posts pertaining to the Jake Gardner case. As far as I'm concerned, currently Fredrick Franklin as well as a few others need to be held accountable for dragging this man through the mud the way they did.

Video has some more footage as well as 911 call. This case seriously breaks my heart. Jake deserved better. Maybe it's my own family and friends in the service.

Jake Gardners attorney announces his death. In a much more respectful way imo.

The family and friends are not even allowed to grieve. Jake's suicide is celebrated online.

Prosecutors Evidence Video
The prosecutor took a moment to acknowledge a football players death before proceeding. He then went on with all the "evidence", including a Trump tweet. "When the looting starts. The shooting starts." He linked Jake's love for Trump to motivation.

The prosecutor then went on to say that there were mentions in Jake's phone about shooting, best angle, etc. I don't know the specifics of this. There was a lot of speculation as to motive. Whether any of that is true, we may not know. Based on the things I've seen online, I don't believe this was a racially motivated shooting.

Over halfway through is when the prosecutor mentioned Jake's suicide. He said he's "against the practice". Whatever that means.

Comparing the amount of delicacy and respect in the handling of the Breonna Taylor verdict and the lack of delicacy in the evidence disclosure of Jake Gardners case stands out extremely noticeably.

Wanted to tack this video on to this post. Unsure if Jake Gardners death is or isn't a suicide. But, there are some things coming out that look a bit suspicious.
