Any person or country going to hell is definitely heading in the wrong direction.

The remaining 22% must be wealthy enough that inflation, the costs of goods and services are of no real consequence to them.

Either that or they are completely dependent upon the public dole for Food, Clothing, Shelter, consumer goods of all manner and kind.
Like the super wealthy the inflated cost of everything is of no consequence to them either.

People of either status (Rich or Poor) have no reason to complain.

78% of the dwindling numbers of the Democrat party.

I am just that kind of skeptic to think that those who abandoned the US Communist Party will be of no use to the more conservative (Republican) side of the electoral processes.

They will simply refuse to participate in the election altogether. Either that or they'll "hold their collective noses and vote for the Communist candidates and incumbents.

It is next to impossible to convince people that they've been "wrong" all this time and to get them to stay involved but on the opposite side of things.

@iThink the so-called Leftist "intelligentsia," which I assume is who you are talking about here, do not number in the millions. These self-appointed leaders of the Left can be thought of as the movement's "priesthood." The rest, those who we read are moving out of the Democrat party, are their erstwhile followers. There are more followers than there are priests.

@eschatologyguy I am talking about all of the people who have been calling themselves "democrats" and "democratic socialists" and who have pronounced their exodus. Some are literally migrating to Red States - but they bring their socialistic biases with them. Others do not migrate either because they can't manage to do that financially or because they are internally fearful about life in a so called "red state."

As we all know there is a very large chasm between the word and the deed. I have high hopes that the exodus of avowed and life long democrats from that political party is genuine and that it WILL indeed manifest in the utter rejection - a purge of democrats and replace them with "CONSERVATIVE" Constitutionalist Patriotic people in every political office there is. - Note - I did not say Republican; because we all know that "republican" and "constitutionalist conservative" are NOT necessarily the same thing.

What I am getting at is that we cannot afford to take for granted that the mid-term elections will go the way we hope - the way we NEED it to go.

Just as so many "democrat" celebrities claimed that they would leave USA if Trump were to win the election in 2016 - did NOT follow through on their word I expect the "democrats" who claim to have abandoned their legacy political party will have to "prove their resolve" this November.
As I said above - "the word and the deed" are a very long distance apart from each other.

I remain skeptical about democrats saying that they have permanently abandoned the democrat party and that they are going to vote accordingly this November.

The proverbial "political migrants" talk a good a "reasonable argument for their decision to shift their political party loyalties to the "Republican Party.
Some of them have physically migrated to Red States. But just as we perpetually hold out hope of seeing some prosecutorial action on the likes of Hillary Clinton and the Podestas...etc My unwavering position is that " I WILL Believe it when I see it! " And not until then.
