What would stop criminal organizations from taking over?
People in an anarchist society will not be as vulnerable to criminal groups taking over as many like to think. With the absence of taxes, the population will have ample resources to subscribe to efficient, competitive private police and defence forces, create their own voluntary defence militias, and have the freedom to purchase any form of self-defence they want, from guns to animals, to protect their bodies and properties. It would be just as dangerous, if not more so, for a criminal group to attack a person or property under anarchy than it would be under the state.
Attacking someone else's property would be MORE dangerous for criminals. The false sense of comfort of people that rely on state police give current criminals a safer work environment if anything.
