Hey ramzpaul, I hope you are right about the virus being nothing to worry about. If in a couple of weeks it turns out that lockdowns etc were unnecessary then we can say "oops, that was a bit of an overreaction" and it will take a while to fix the economy. But alternatively if we underreact resulting in the avoidable deaths of tens of thousands of people then the economy will still be screwed for ages AND we'll be mourning our loved ones that we can never get back.

There is another side to this though. There are people dying alone and scared because the hospital will not let any family members in, even if they do not have Covid, and are dying of something else. Many nurses have said they were ordered to do not CPR on people who had no DNR and did wish to be resuscitated. Do you want to go to a hospital for any reason in future, and have a nurse who removed elderly from respirators or who refused resuscitation to someone who wanted to live? These medical people have to become callous to do this, and that will not go away. And scars from families not allowed to be with a loved one at their deathbed will last for a lifetime. Churches are being closed down, and my husband in a nursing home can not see a priest in any way. He is very fragile and could die of things other than Covid. They would not even let him leave the facility for 5 minutes for confession and communion. This is draconian martial law, and being used for their purposes, not on our behalf. This could be quickly resolved by giving anyone who has no kidney problems Chloroquine when they test positive. People with healthy kidneys can take it for a short time with no ill effects. If dome immediately, they would not progress to lung involvement or need breathing support. When in the lungs, a nebulizer with silver solution can do wonders. So this is NOT for us.
@MariAngelaGrow I'm sorry to hear about your husband. Leads me directly into what I have been saying. Theses quarantine measures are ridiculous and ridiculously ineffective with extremely detrimental effects. What about just the fact that we're social animals and are basically living under house arrest. Whatever this is, just seems extremely wrong under the circumstances.
This is going to have an astonishingly negative effect on societal ethos. ...What about people that go to AA for instance? I noticed liquor stores are still open... The more I learn about this, the less-- positive-- sense it makes. ...Just soo weird!
And I'm tired of hearing celebrities telling everyone just to "hunker down and play some video games (...) I don't play video games and can't afford to "hunker down", cause I have bills to pay. I'm interested/dreading to see how this plays out.
