A quote from Buck Sexton (American Consequences pub):
While some National Guard presence at the Capitol – in light of the riot earlier this month – is understandable, there's no reasonable explanation for the deployment of almost 30,000 troops to D.C.
Regardless of how one votes, every American should recognize Biden's presidential inauguration is the continuation of a healthy political tradition. It should be (and almost certainly will be) a peaceful, orderly, event.
Whatever Trump voters may think of the integrity of the last election or the policies of the incoming administration, there should be an understanding that this is the way it goes. As messy as our politics may be, our system has proven durable through even more challenging times. There could even be some actual unity in that recognition tomorrow.
Instead, the Democrat Party has intentionally chosen to make the inauguration seem like it's occurring under a state of siege. We know who they blame for it. This is being done for political leverage, and will almost certainly be the justification for more aggressive surveillance against those with pro-Trump, anti-Democrat views. They're posing as victims now so that they can make real victims of their political opponents later. It's a troubling time for the country.
What are your expectations about Dems persecution of Trump supporters (and various militia groups) going forward??
They've already blurted their plans out publicly, so...
Yep!
@KeithThroop What are your plans going forward? Any different than before?
@toronto_Georgia I will not change anything about my life. I will continue to preach the Word in my church and take the same stands I've always taken. Frankly, I have expected more and more persecution simply because I am a Christian who refuses to go along with much of what is happening in our culture, so adding the fact that I supported President Trump doesn't really change anything I've been expecting for quite some time.
