I'm trying to think through the various aspects of political philosophy, the various dichotomies involved, and how they really interact to form up things like right wing socialists and left wing anarcho-capitaists. What are some that you might include? I currently have:

individualist v collectivist
culturally based morality v universalism
My truth v The Truth
revolutionary v reactionary
linear history v cyclical history
nature v nurture
local v global governance
authoritarian v general consensus
short v long time preference

Toss our others, and especially ideas on how to map them. I KNOW it isn't a left right number line or a simple cartesian system like the libertarian test. I've been chewing on this for a while and it really beyond my education what statistical sort of tools might apply. Maybe one could assign color values to various categories to mix a political "color" or "temperature? Any ideas how to build up a new way of looking at politichology?

Why? Seems like a pointless academic exercise to me. Leftwingism is a mental deficiency.

Because not every leftist is the same, or insane.

@govols I think being a little bit leftist is like being a little bit pregnant. Once your brain becomes susceptible to the propaganda you are done.
