Communism/socialism/the left is founded upon the sacrificial altar of "victimology". In its genesis it pitted the common (poor) people against the middle class and the aristocracy. It (communism) was founded upon the principle of "fair share redistribution" of wealth.
It is the same today with the added element of "Black vs White" particularly in USA.
But at its core communism/socialism is a perpetual struggle (kampf) between a proverbial haves vs have nots. Without fomenting and suborning resentment it would be impossible for communism/socialism to exist in the first place.
The basic negative human frailty known as envy is easily manipulated in the "have nots" minds and hearts which then begets resentment which begets entitlement which begets anger which begets violent revolution.
Once the dust settles after the revolution the masses will be sad to realize that there is no wealth but what they might have made for themselves before all of the violence started. After massive death and destruction the despotic puppet masters are there to pick up the pieces.
And just like that the people found themselves all equal in their privation and misery.

The Left have been using "VICTIMHOOD" especially of the racial kind for decades. Here in Australia it is the primary driver of Aboriginal discontent.
One guy tried telling me today that he is still traumatised by events that happened back in 1770.
Many Aboriginal people settle either on being a victim or blaming others for being victims. Neither attitude is healthy for self-determination, but young radicals and others of the Left push these attitudes.
