why you think people tend to call for the documented history of people who committed the worse injustices to humanity? i feel it would be more beneficial to encourage future generations to learn to understand exactly the mindset such individuals, giving them the ability to spot the development of these situations and prevent them before becoming to late to do so
@DesireNoDesires. Nice thought. Our Constitution is based on innocent until proven guilty. Even if we know someone is about to commit a crime, they are not guilty until they actually do. In the movie "Minority Report," seeing the future was enough to convict someone of a crime. Imagine the cost to our Liberty if we attempted the same.
@TimTuolomne being able to think critically enough to see the importance in all history, especially the negative, I would hope such a society would have enough self discipline to only use that knowledge to individually maneuver appropriately, in order to influence others around them so that things arent able to escalate to an irreversible extent

@DesireNoDesires. I think you are describing the society extent at our our Original Constitution, and which was sufficiently educated and moral to support it. Today's society is proving Alexis deToqueville's prediction 200 years ago that Democracy always descends into ignorance, sloth and voting itself the goodies, ie socialism.
@TimTuolomne because they are progressive, and when a politician bases his persona on being progressive, the only answer to sustaining supporters is to consistently progress..and being that conservatives planted their principles where they did...the progressive direction only makes sense to be left...so left they gooooo
