I had my suspicions about this because how could this benefit Trump if it can’t prove anything beyond creating a distraction for a while. Time will tell, but I am disturbed by the intent of this claim.

@guru I agree, you can't put too much faith in fact checkers. They have their own agendas. Snopes isn't the Be All End All, but it's a good clue and provides some more information.

@Rick-A It's still worth looking into! We should look at all of these things with a critical eye. And if it is true, I would think it was genius.

@RavenMStark I did pin my own hopes on this being a legitimate report, but it seams like it has not going to be a factor. So to answer your question, I think the intent was to maybe create hope but it’s a false flag and I don’t like being BSed.

All good but I don't agree on the Covid part.

My reason for having my opinion was that Trump supporters were chanting to fire Fauci at rallies and Trump seems to downplay and minimize the virus and the impact of it. On Slug, it seems like the right-leaning people talk about the virus as a "fraud" or a conspiracy.

Biden has said he will "listen to the scientists." And the liberals on the other spaces I sometimes frequent all seem very afraid (perhaps to the point of paranoia) about transmitting the virus.

Again, my personal impressions are from a pretty small sample size, but that's where I was getting that idea.

@RavenMStark When President Trump closed the borders to China and Europe Biden called him xenophobic and later said that Trump had done it too late. Around the same time Nancy Pelosi said to "Go out and hug a Chinaman". which was very bad advice.
I haven't seen the Democrats offer any ideas that the Republicans haven't already done.
They say that President Trump downplayed the virus but that can also be seen as a tactic not to have a panic.
Dr. Fauci has made many contradictive statements not unlike the W.H.O when they said that the virus was not airborne or spread by humans.
Biden may have said that he will "listen to the scientists." but when Doctors have tried to speak out they were silenced by the M.S.M or social media.
There is a lot of fear of a virus that is reported to have a 98% survival rate not to mention that Flu numbers are nearly none existent this year.
My advice to anyone is to research everything for themselves and not to rely on only one single source.
As far as conspiracies go, it will be interesting to see if Covid 19 is still a thing if Biden gets in.

@guru You make a lot of good points and my comments weren't to defend or criticize any politician's response to the virus. My comment was more to provide what I think is an overall Republican POV and an overall Democrat POV towards Covid, which I think affected the mail-in voting ratio. I believe Republicans were more likely to vote in person and Democrats more likely to vote via mail-in.

As for Covid still being a thing if Biden gets in, what are you implying? Your profile says you're from Australia. Do they not have Covid in Australia as well? I thought it was a global pandemic, not an American political pandemic.

@RavenMStark Your points of view are well made. As a "Conspiracy theory" I can see a world stage plot against western economy if not civilization. More down to earth, living here in Australia, if it wasn't for the media and lock downs, social distancing, masks etc. I literally would have no idea that Covid 19 existed. In the area where I live only two people reportedly had it at the beginning of the year and they both recovered. The whole thing has been over the top here with drastic measures taken in some states and loss of freedoms.
Looking around I don't even see people with cold or flu symptoms, a very health year really.
I felt that Covid 19 was used unfairly against Donald Trump by the Democrat's who seem to have nothing else to offer. From my perspective here, you are losing the best President that you ever had and I see a dim future now. If it turns out that Joe Biden won fairly then of course I will accept that result and hope for the best for your country.
