Here is a new question, what Deal was made while the senators were hiding in the basement this afternoon???
When they returned to discuss and vote on the Electoral Vote, at least THREE Republican Senators had changed their mind about contesting the validity of the current Electoral College!!!
So the republicans have folded again "to get along"!!!
I have been loyal to the Republican Party for many years!!!!
I am DONE!!!
I want a Party that will stand up to anyone or any group that wants this country to become another Socialist State!!!
IMHO, that is exactly what the Party that call themselves Democrats want!!!!!

Politicians are not born, they are excreted. Swamp creatures stick together. Probably deals were made, using the today's incident as an opportunity.

@Serg97 I'm sure there are dirt they can leverage, but I think we should not think of swamp as two party system, but rather as a immoral place where everyone stinks. After all they are politicians. Morality is not required, in fact is a hindrance.
So we can assume that those that flipped, did it because they see the side wining so they are protecting their political career. They could off course also be making a deal or be threatened. At the end of the day it does not matter, really. They betrayed the constitution and the American people in a traditional swamp fashion.
@dd54 Grass roots movements , assuming the voting will actually be possible in the future. They will happen, but it will take time. There is also possibility of rising of the new leader in time of crisis that no one saw coming. Just like Trump was a black swan, there is always another one somewhere out there. And when conditions are just right will see it. Its always like that in history. Right person is out there, but condition (time and place) is not yet right. So with time, I'm sure will see that happening. In the mean time, it will be less fun I imagine. Both in American and in many other countries.
That being said, Trump is not out of the game yet, so will have to see what happens in the near future.
