Follow the money
In Alberta, there is no charge for flu or COVID, or pertussis, or Ruebella, or mumps or polio etc, etc. The only shot I had to pay for was Shingles which you may develop if you had chicken pox as a kid.
@WayneHawthorne we don't usually pay for vaccines as kids (in Norway), but as adults we do. Tetanus, rabies flu shot etc you have to pay for (you can get the flu shot for free if you have documented weakened immune system). This year covid vaccine is free. But I doubt it will be next year.

The vaccines available do work, and they work on various "mutations" or as they are more commonly know variants.

@Lightman And flu vaccines do fuck all too (you're better off taking vit B, C, D and zinc regularly). Almost everyone I've seen get one, gets sick and its always a game of catch up because the flu vaccines are always for the last strain that hit (you just can't predict how these things are going to mutate and create a vax pre-emptively).
